Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Configure and deploy physical security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection 

• Develop and maintain project documentation, including system diagrams, Visio drawings, and installation plans 

• Conduct site surveys, technical assessments, and assist in pre-sales engineering

• Deploy and manage networked security devices such as IP cameras, access control panels, and security software platforms 

• Serve as the escalation team for complex technical issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and support for field staff and system maintenance 

• Work with project managers to develop timelines, allocate resources, and define technical deliverables 

• Provide technical training and support to field technicians and end users 

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices 

• Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers for product evaluation, integration, and troubleshooting 

• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation throughout project lifecycles

• Full-time position with standard working hours 

• Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time (up to 4 hours) 

• Comfortable using computers, tablets, and mobile applications as part of daily workflow

• Must pass initial and random substance abuse tests & background checks

Qualifications 

​

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 

• 3+ years of experience in security systems engineering or IT infrastructure

• Strong expertise in access control, video surveillance, and alarm systems 

• Proficiency with security platforms such as Avigilon, Alta Aware, ACM, Verkada, Salto, and commercial alarm systems 

• Experience with networking, including IP addressing, VLANs, and firewall configurations

• Familiarity with tools such as Auvik, ConnectWise Manage, and Peplink 

• Experience with Peplink, Unifi, and Aruba networking solutions is a plus 

• Knowledge of ConnectWise Automate is a plus 

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 

• Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and schematics using Visio

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service skills, with the ability to support end users effectively 

• Strong time management skills with the ability to track and manage workload independently

• Certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA, or other similar industry-recognized certifications are a plus
