Security Sales Engineer

Our team seeks a motivated, knowledgeable, and talented Security Sales Engineer to provide innovative security designs that aligns solutions to our client’s needs.  You will be part of a sales engineering team that is enthusiastic to cultivate relationships while providing technical ownership of security solutions from design and estimating through to project management.​

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, engineer, and estimate enterprise-wide physical security solutions

  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction

  • Cultivate client relationships into partnerships.

  • Update ERP system with status changes, revenue estimates, target date forecasts

  • Stay abreast of competitive offerings and industry trends

  • Outline intuitive and complete Scope of Works to set clear success matrixes aligned to client goals.

  • As necessary, and in conjunction with the team leadership, present our solutions / designs to prospective clients with the goal of winning new business

  • Assist post-sales engineering / project management as necessary with technical issues / redesigns

  • Monitor, measure, and report on quote / sales engineering pipeline

  • Provide technical advice and problem resolution to project engineering as necessary

  • Provide responsive, concise, professional support to all customers and other personnel to ensure timely follow-up on all customer concerns and issues

  • Generate RFI’s and other formal correspondence as required

  • Conduct post project reviews in conjunction with project management to ensure high client satisfaction

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of work experience, education and training

  • 3+ years experience with IT / Security System Industry / Sales Engineering or related field

  • Responsible for reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints

  • Technical experience in video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and IP networking

  • Extensive knowledge of design / sales engineering best practices

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities

  • Exceptional client facing communications & presentation skills

  • Proven hands-on Security System technology experience

  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.

  • Create accurate diagrams and documentation using Visio and/or other design tools.

  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.

  • Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside the organization.

  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.

  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management.

  • Increase job knowledge through continuing education and professional development opportunities, attend conferences, and read professional industry publications

  • Previous experience with these and / or similar hardware vendors preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Regular and Timely Attendance

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 4 hours) without a break

  • Position requires bending, twisting, stooping and climbing

  • Ability to use ladders and lifts at height to perform installation and service

  • May be exposed to temperature changes, heights, small spaces including confined spaces

  • Ability to distinguish colors and use hands for repetitive fine manipulation frequently

  • Must pass initial and random substance abuse tests & background checks
